5 MCC members became eligible for their 10 year pins and on 2 July at the General Member’s Meeting they received their pins. It’s a moment to acknowledge those members who have been at the club for some considerable time. May they next receive their 20 year pins!

Fundraising BBQ
Saturday 29 June was a wet and cold day, but a hardy troupe of members cooked, served and took payments at the Bunnings BBQ. Customers steadily came over the day until we exhausted our stocks and made enough money to help the club’s finances.
State Upper House MP visit
On Friday 7 June one of our MPs, Mr Tom Macintosh, visited our club and was keen to learn about our activities and plans. He and his assistant Nick were introduced to playing our elegant game and were impressed with the skill required.
Visit to MCC
Mr Tom English, one of the State Upper House representatives for Eastern Victoria, will visit our club on Friday 7 June from 10am. While its a photo opportunity for Mr English, it’s a great chance for us to build a relationship and showcase our club and its important community activities.
National Volunteers Week
We attended a Community Network meeting at Bunnings and heard from a wide range of community groups operating on the peninsula. It’s amazing how many people volunteer to help others, run clubs and improve the lives of those helping or being helped. Our club operates as well as it does because of our members volunteer to do so much!
S E Metro competition
Clubs from Mornington, Lilydale, Sandringham, Monash and Kew have been competing in this year’s SE Metro competition. Games started in March and end next week. So a lot of kms have been covered and a lot of hoops won. Every Monday has bestowed upon us fine clear weather and visiting other clubs has found lots of smiling faces.
Mornington wins Division 1
John Carr winner, Janine Sisson runner-up, in Division 1 at the Monash (Open Singles) Tournament played 26, 27 April 2024. Congratulations to these 2 star players of our club.
Farewell to Sally
On Friday 5th April 2024 a funeral was held for our much loved member, Sally Sartain. Sally was a joy to have in our club with her infectious humour and positive attitude. May we all remember her and channel her love for life.
2024 Doubles Tournament
Saturday 23 March was our club’s doubles tournament, with clubs coming from Gippsland, Philip Island and the Mornington and Ballerina Peninsula. With play taking place in glorious autumn weather, the teams battled it out until the grand final between Mornington and West Rosebud, who were victorious. Thanks you to all the volunteers who gave their time to make it a great day of competition, socialising and enjoying a delectable spread of food at the presentation of prizes.
