After 3 gruelling days of play, totally 23 hours, our club member John Carr has been selected to play at the World Championships, to be played from 14 October 2023 in Bunbury Western Australia. GOOD LUCK JOHN!
On Thursday 27 July 2023, after social games were finished, a group of members gathered in the clubhouse to wine and dine for ‘Christmas in July’.
All reports are that it was an enjoyable way to spend time together and put a little bit cheer into the middle of winter.
On April 21, 5 of our SEMCA clubs – Sorrento, West Rosebud, RNB, Village Glen and Mornington – had members participating in our annual coaching day. The 30 participants moved between 3 coaches over the course of the morning. Pictured is coach David Wren from Essendon CC demonstrating a 3-ball cannon (a worm) to a group of fascinated participants.
Janine Sisson (Mornington) was selected – along with Janine McHardy and Jennifer Brand (WA) and Helen Gammon (Vic) – for a combined team to play in the Tasmanian tests. The Tasmanian tests were held over the 22-23 February 2023. There were six rotating members from Tasmania. The games were held at 3 different venues around Hobart. The competition was 3 games of doubles and 3 games of singles each day unless it was won in two games.
On day three Jennifer Brand and Janine Sisson were the top players of the day.
MCC hosted a ‘Come and Try’ day for the local Meals on Wheels Volunteers on Friday 14 April from 2pm. The afternoon was much enjoyed by the 13 people who came along to have a couple of hours of fun and enjoy an afternoon tea. By running this activity, we are not only thanking those volunteers for their support to the community, but at the same time promoting members to the club.
